Freedom is a Jimi Hendrix song from his 1971 album “The Cry of Love”, which was released after his death.
Freedom is exemption, from obligation and duty.
Freedom is what people have gone to war for.
Freedom is the power of self-determination attributed to the will; the quality of being independent of fate or necessity.
Freedom is a noun.
Freedom is what we long for.
Freedom is what we have been given, so graciously, through the scandal of the cross.
Freedom is powerful. Freedom infuses you with power.
Freedom provokes you to action. It’s not a battle, it’s an understanding.
You are only really free, when you allow your freedom to enhance the freedom of others. No one, who truly believes they are free, can slack off, or do nothing.
Your ability to do nothing- proves, rather loudly, that you don’t believe you are free; which is your only limitation.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry is own weight, this is a frightening prospect.”
And I agree with that statement.
